Who we are
RentScore ("we") is the data controller for information collected through this website. Contact: [your contact email].
What we collect and why
- Property searches — the postcode, address, rent and home details you enter, to produce your RentScore and report (performance of our service).
- Payments — handled by Stripe. We receive your email address and payment status, never your card details (contract).
- Rent contributions — only if you tick the consent box. Used in aggregate to improve rent estimates; never published individually (consent — you can withdraw it by emailing us).
- Section 13 case details and photos — the notice dates, property details and photos you add to your pack, to build your evidence pack (performance of our service). You can remove photos at any time.
- Reminder emails — your email address, only if you ask for deadline reminders, used only to send them (consent — every email has a link to stop them).
- Building facilities — if you mark a nearby building as having facilities (such as a gym), we share that anonymously with other renters comparing nearby. It isn't linked to you.
- Usage events — which steps of the service are used, to measure and improve it (legitimate interests). We do not use advertising cookies.
Who we share it with
Our hosting, database, email and payment providers, who process data on our behalf. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
- Reports, case details and payment records: 6 years (tax records), or until you ask us to delete your report.
- Photos: 12 months after you add them, or sooner if you remove them.
- Reminder email addresses: deleted 7 days after your tribunal deadline, 30 days after you unsubscribe, or after 4 months if you never add your notice dates.
- Records of emails we've sent: 90 days.
- Feedback: kept to improve the service; any email address you give is deleted after 12 months.
- Rent contributions: until you ask us to delete them, stored without your name or email.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
